5x Click-through Rate

When the fire pit business tries to advertise a product that customers don't want, what's a designer to do?

Fundamentals

1

Identify the users.

A successful design starts with an evidence-based understanding of people: their unique goals, behaviors, and context.

2

Define the problem.

The problem determines the design's purpose. Without a real problem, solutions lack validation and value.

3

Measure the outcomes.

Goals matter. I review how the product performs at solving problems and follow up with iterative improvements.

"You can’t just release things into the world and then let them go like they’re baby sea turtles."

- Laura Klein, co-host of the What is Wrong with UX podcast

Years of sewing and cutting fabric taught me very tangible ways in which design makes the world. As a former fashion designer, I take responsibility for how I spend resources, make design decisions, and respond to the outcomes. Designers change people's lives, and I want to be part of making the world better. If you feel the same and are considering working with me, then let's talk!
